Description

This document contains Higgs candidate events (with an invariant mass between 120-130 GeV) that have been released by CMS for use in education and outreach: 10 gamma-gamma events, one 2e2mu event, one 4mu event and one 4e event.

These data were selected for use in education and outreach and contain a subset of the total event information. They are not suitable for a full physics analysis.

This application uses three.js

Set to Stereo View

This view is specifically designed for use in a Google Cardboard viewer and therefore requires a viewer and a suitable mobile phone.

To use with the viewer, rotate the phone to landscape, press the button below, and insert into the viewer. The view automatically pans forward in the direction of view. To exit, tap the screen.

Export model

Import 3D Model

Select a 3D model to load.

Currently only .obj format is supported. If an additional .mtl is available and loaded it will be used as well.

Nota bene: a large complicated 3D model may take minutes to load.

Files available via the web have been created from SketchUp models created by T. Sakuma.

How can you use these data?

Files with the extension .ig are JSON files containing information suitable for visual display. The data can be accessed from the file menu of the online event display. Comma-separated value (csv) files can be used in online applications such as the histogram visualizer and other applications, examples are given in
